Burley Park Subdivision
Sighted within gently undulating grassy plains amongst stands of ancient River Red Gum trees in Melbourne’s West, Burley Park has been designed to take advantage of unique landscape features to maximise neighbourhood character and create a great place for families to live.
As part of a major extension to an existing Aged care property in Strathdevon (Tas), Papworth Davies in collaboration with Thomson Adsett Architects, developed a landscape scheme from early concept through to detailed design.
Parade College Bundoora
Papworth Davies prepared a Landscape Concept for Parade College focussed on revitalising an existing Quadrangle space.
Northcote Mixed Use
Arthurton Road Northcote is a significant high density, mixed use development project located in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs. The site is typical of the area as it changes rapidly from industrial and commercial to residential with strong connections to the fruit and vegetable storage and distribution industry.
Marcus Oldham College
Papworth Davies were engaged in 2016 as part of a team of consultants, led by 3iD Studios Architects, to assist Marcus Oldham College with the design of a new Learning Centre facility, expanding the school’s capacity and continuing their drive to provide high quality facilities for their students and staff.
Korongee Dementia Village
The first of its kind in Australia, Korongee Village is a landmark dementia care development, set in the suburban village of Glenorchy, 10 mins outside of the city of Hobart, Tasmania.
Hawthorn West Primary School
The project brief was to create a clear, long term vision for the school environment and to provide a framework for the siting of new buildings, play spaces, sports facilities and infrastructure which can be used as a guiding document for ongoing investment in the campus.
Eden Square Apartments
Eden Square Apartments is a high density mixed use development located on a prominent site overlooking Mullum Mullum Creek, close to the Ringwood Activity Centre, shopping precincts, parks and connected to local bicycle paths and parks. The site features a number of excellent existing landscape elements including stands of mature trees along the creek corridor, which form a dense green canopy backdrop to the project, as well as a natural level change which informed a number of the key design concepts for the project.
As part of the development of a new Sports Precinct on the campus, Collingwood College engaged Papworth Davies to work with Architects Smith + Tracey to design a series of internal courtyard spaces linking the existing school grounds to the new sports facility.
The school campus is located on a steeply sloping site in incorporates 2 main external oval spaces which are cut into the topography, resulting in some significant batters and level transitions.
The north east corner of Alma Park in St Kilda East was a long-neglected part of the park that Papworth Davies has rejuvenated, working with the City of Port Phillip.
La Trobe University
Papworth Davies worked in collaboration with Billard Leece Architects to re-develop Thomas Cherry Forecourt at Latrobe University in Bundoora.
In creating their new home in St Kilda, our Clients, who had recently sold their holiday home in Palm Beach, New South Wales, wanted to create a garden that drew some of the landscape character elements of Palm Beach as well as that of their new home suburb of St Kilda.
St.Bernards College Chapel
Over years of iterative expansion and development, the school spaces have evolved as a series of diverse buildings, narrow alley ways, steep steps and severe level transitions. Improving this setting to create genuine, quality spaces for students and staff was a key component of the brief.
Rivervue Retirement Village
The Papworth Davies team have been involved in the masterplanning and detail design of the Rivervue Retirement Village in Avondale Heights since 2008.
Parade College Preston
Papworth Davies was engaged by Parade College to create a revitalised central square space in the heart of the schools Preston campus.
Ivanhoe Private Garden
Our team was invited to help this client to plan a major garden upgrade for their Spanish Mission style property in Melbourne’s suburb of Ivanhoe.
Hampton Private Garden
Taking inspiration from the client’s art and following a detailed assessment of the site levels the schematic design response was to create a new entertaining space, reclaiming the garden as a usable space and connecting the adjoining paths and access points.
Epping Plaza Childcare
As part of the recently completed extensions to Epping Plaza Shopping Centre, Papworth Davies designed the external play areas of a significant upper level child care centre for the centre.
Central Road, Blackburn
Visitors to Blackburn Lake Sanctuary who parked on the side of Central Road had, for years, experienced an unmarked sea of gravel and potholes. A bus stop also competed for space in a generally unattractive and unsafe arrival area beside a busy road.
Brighton East, Holmhurst
Located in the breezy bayside suburb of Brighton East along Melbourne’s inner ring of coastal suburbs, the clients for this project engaged Papworth Davies to undertake a full garden upgrade to both the rear garden and front entrance.
Brighton East Garden
Papworth Davies worked closely with the owners of a private residential property in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Brighton East to realise their vision for a transformed garden which complements the planned renovations to the building and offers new possibilities for outdoor entertaining and living.
Atira Student Apartments
Papworth Davies design of the main roof terrace features a courtyard nestled among surrounding gardens of extensive plantings of succulents to create a unique and vivid external space with stunning views of the city skyline.
